    27th June

Matt was back at Wimbledon today, but not basking in the sunshine this time. Carol was first thing this morning on Breakfast but by Matts forecast the cloud had closed in. Still, that didn't detract from Matts loveliness of course. Just the one quick forecast on BBC2 predicting the chance of a few spots of rain between 1 and 3. And was he spot on or what!! It started about 1 and finished around 2.30. And I have word that Matt even predicted the finish of the rain at 2.30 on the BBC 1 forecast!!! How perfect is that?? I need him to see me through my next 2 weeks holiday in England!!!

To start Matt was waving to us, from afar:

    2008-06-27 1

And then we got a lot closer and another nice shirt today.

    2008-06-27 2

Matt did mention that some players were experiencing problems with the wind. I'm not surprised! Flipping'eck, its been breezy!

Well, I'll be away now for two weeks, so a temporary lull in blogging activity will be experienced I'm afraid. I will try and catch up, possibly a little next Wednesday if I have time.

But meanwhile, keep a look out!

    26th June

Finally! Matt is back! But not very busy by all accounts! I bet he's having a grand old time at Wimbledon! It's great to see him back, feels like its been ages since I've blogged! But I did only catch him once on BBC2  forecasting from the Crow's Nest - I can't record more than one channel, even at different times because the set-top box has to on the recording channel and the reception on normal telly is..........pointless! But anyway, was good to see him even if it was just the once. I see he had a big one in his hand today.......microphone that is!

    2008-06-26 1

I guess if there had been a bit more weather action we might have seen Matt a bit more, but these lovely sunny (perhaps a little breezy - here anyway) conditions don't leave a lot of room for needing more forecasts.
And here he looks like he's telling me off for the big microphone comment!

    2008-06-26 2

So, looks like 'a chance' for a little more weather action tomorrow, perhaps a spot of rain or two, but whether it'll be enough to worry about......time will tell!  At the moment there's some on the map over that way for tomorrow afternoon so who knows! Not that we want to disturb Matts visit to Wimbledon with work but.... we might get to see him more

    12th/13th June

As promised Matt was back on JL's show on Radio 2 and no doubt the shipping forecast but that's way too early for me!
And I have to say, again writing this retrospectively, that this one and only Friday 13th of the year, was one of the............strangest I have ever experienced. Unusual happenings and co-incidences coming out the wood work! Nothing bad, as in the 'real world' 13 is NOT an unlucky number at all.
And if you didn't have a weird Friday 13th then click below to hear Matt talking about his pants!!

    11th/12th June

Matt was keeping us on our toes last night, we expected to see him on News24 because stupidly we believed the TBT page!! Der! So, the dvd was cancelled, but we later found that Matt was on Janice Long's show on Radio 2 last night.
Some crazy mad facts about how short men (5ft 8) have to earn 70k more than the taller ones (6ft 4) in order to get the same amount of dates!! My ex-boyfriend claimed to be 5ft 6 (that was open to debate!) and he earned more than me but not *that* much! And who earns 70k in the first place!?!?!?! Where on earth did that info come from???

Actually I would just like to add, after listening to Matt talking about the heavy rain last night, my little close encounter with a frog! I was awoken at 1.21am (as checked with my phone next to the bed) by the heavy rain and the leaky guttering. Water was pouring onto something and making a right noise! so after 20 minutes of getting more and more annoyed and wondering what on earth it was I went down to investigate. Opened the back door torch in hand and saw the water was falling on a plastic watering can! Grrr. went and moved said watering can and felt, what I thought was water on the back of my ankle but when I moved the torch round there was froggy sat there looking all innocent like! He'd just touched me as he hopped passed, lucky he didn't get trod on too! And I have to say I didn't think to kiss him!! I may have missed my chance to find my handsome prince! Doh! But it wasn't foremost in my mind at 2am outside in the rain! His mate was not far away too, I think there may have been a party going on there!

And Matt said he's back on again tonight :D God only knows what the subject will be this time, you just never know with Janice.

    8th/9th June

So, the TBT was right!! Matt is back tonight! And saying that tomorrow might be another good day to go to the beach!! Lots more phoning into work sick tomorrow then!! Go people! People power!! This is the UK, every day of summer should be a national holiday! Its so rare!

Anyway, I need to go to sleep now and leave Matt to it with his happy smiley overnight cheerfulness.

The starting number in London this morning was to be 18! Nice. I think it was 16 when I left home. Yesterday was almost but not quite the warmest day of the year so far Matt tells us, but I think London and us southerners gave a good effort! Matt had some cloud just over Southampton for Monday afternoon tho!! , turns out that wasn't to be.
Just don't get too used to it!! I've got a temperature of 15 for Friday on the 5-day forecast!! Nasty cold front pushing down from the north, but there's two high pressures out to the west, which are joining forces, can't we have them instead???? We had isobars on the 12.30 forecast and also graphics with footballs over  Europe, I take that to mean its raining footballs........or did I get distracted again?? hehe

    2008-06-09 1

And just look! Look at that mean old cold front!! *That's* whats spoiling our weather!! As you can see, Matts not happy about it either!

    2008-06-09

Matt had a busy night last night, he was on Janice Long's show on Radio 2 as well! I've managed to listen to most of it (which was quite a feat in itself!) and was recording it, when, probably over half way though, it just stopped never to start again. I will get it, it just might take a few hours!!! So, I will blog that later. I just don't know why it never works for me.

Well, it was *very* hard work but I finally made it! Recorded it at home but had to bring it to work to upload it!! I'm sure it shouldn't really be this hard!

    6th June

I've been a bad blogger again!! But I have good reason! Friday night I was feeling quite poorly and I was out all day yesterday. Enjoying summer while it lasts. A quick  trip to the Isle of Wight and out for a meal with a friend in the evening, then come home and search rightmove for places to rent on the Isle of Wight . Just a thought! A nice thought!

Anyway, back to Matt. I see he's sorted his days out now. Talking again about the rain out to the east, its 'Tuesdays' rain returning. I thought that was what he meant yesterday(Thursday) but my memory is so bad I wasn't sure.
On the back of discussions about lying in The Apprentice. Suzanna: 'When it comes to the weather though Matt's going to tell the truth for us, morning Matt'. Matt: 'Hello there. I always tell the truth, its not necessarily always correct, but I try to tell the truth at least'.
By the 8.20 forecast things had obviously been heating up in the BP garden as Matt had removed his jacket. Friday morning is just coming back to me now and I remember it wasn't too bad but the wind was most chilly. During the morning I had to go walkabout between buildings a couple of times and I wore my jacket as the sun had gone in and the wind was cold. It did warm up later and I sat in the garden when I got home form work but still very windy...as always!! It's weird lately, the only time the wind drops is when its raining! Whenever the sun comes out...there it is.....back again!
And so we come to the end of a second week of Matt on Breakfast. He did say at the end of the 8.55 that Carol would be back on Monday. Oh well, it was good while it lasted! and keeps me a tad busy!! And if the TBT is to be believed he's back on tonight!!    Thats not much time off lately!

    2008-06-08

As I am blogging outdoors today I have no idea what colour that shirt is, just looks white, but I'm not sure that it is! And I also hope that either Matt is wearing toetector shoes or that plant pot is behind him!!! Looks like its in a precarious position!

    5th June

This morning, no umbrella, no overcoat, shirt and red jumper today because its still a bit nippy in the mornings. Matt: 'As you've actually indicated, many of us waking up to sunny skies this morning, but I think you know the regime, a forecast isn't a forecast at present without a little bit of rain in it. There will be some showers developing across the country through today and for some there will be some longer spells of rain'
For the 7.16 forecast Sian was asking: 'Lets find out if Matt has something nice in store for us today'. Matt: 'I've got, I think, a bit of something nice for most of us this morning Sian. Almost a typical British summers day, Some will stay dry and bright with a little bit of sunshine, some will see some showers develop, even some longer spells of rain. So, it essentially is a story of sunshine and showers taking the whole of Britain together.'
And on the 7.47 forecast Matt gets a bit confused, lost track of the days I think. 'To the right of the screen, across Eastern Scotland and England we've got another strip of blue pushing in. This is actually yesterdays rain returning, not yesterdays, Mondays rain returning, back across eastern parts of England and Scotland.' ' For the most part, this weekend, Bill and Sian, at the moment, is not looking too bad'
Sian: 'Thank you very much, I like the way you said 'at the moment' ...just in case, you can never be sure, its called hedging your bets. Thanks Matt'
On the last forecast today poor Matt was blinded by the sun in one eye and the half of him was in the shade! I think he was just trying to get all the sun he could.

    2008-06-05

Thinking, thinking, what day is it? what day is it?

It's Thursday....which means....another day of Breakfast with Matt tomorrow!

    4th June

Weyhey! It was good to see Matt NOT wearing wet weather gear this morning!! This is summer, right??? It's June and yet Matt's still in the garden in shirt and jumper!! Why??? I did feel the chill when I left the house this morning too. Longest day shortly!!!!
Much discussion this morning about the apostrophe! Before the 's' or after! Tricky!
By way of introduction to the 6.45 forecast, Bill: 'How's Matts weather for instance, this morning, and where's his apostrophe?' Matt: 'It's nowhere to be seen, but I have been worrying a little bit about the rain during last 24 hours. Lasted a little longer in one or two spots than I initially anticipated' ( I wasn't going to mention that....it being his birthday 'n' all!!)
Today we had a much brighter day, but not overly warm, especially in the wind. It's got 3 and a half weeks to sort itself out!! Or they'll be trouble!

    2008-06-04

Hopefully I'll be a littel more awake when I see Matt tomorrow morning! After not much more than about 3 hours sleep last night I just say on the edge of the bed glued to the telly for about 20 minutes this morning trying to wake up, after finally falling asleep about an hour before the alarm was due to go!!! Not clever! Time for an early niight!

    Happy Birthday to Matt!

Another appearance by Matt on Breakfast today, and with a secret he was trying to keep! Sian: 'We are told, its a very happy birthday today, for one particular gent',(and Bill also saying: 'celebrting with a drenching') oooh and you're out there getting wet, hello Matt ) Matt: 'I am, what a way to spend your birthday, thank you both of you, I was trying to keep that one a secret'
For the 7.19 forecast Bill was asking probing questions: 'On this speical day for him, just how old is Matt Taylor?' Matt laughs: 'I'm a day older than yesterday Bill, lets just leave it at that one shall we' ( Sian and Bill laughing).
7.50 Matt had the brolly out. The rain had obviously reached London. It was already here when I woke up at 7 o clock.
For the 8.17 forecast, Bill said: 'Lets send a text to Matt, Happy Birthday' Matt: 'Thank you very much Bill and Sian. Yes, its that special day and on my special day I've brought you......some rather appalling weather, very sorry about that' A reversal of fortunes tomorrow apparentyl, which has to mean I have some dry, sunny weather on the way! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
After the 8.54 forecast Bill said: 'It's no way to spend your birthday is it? Standing under a brolly in the rain' . Matt: 'It's a good job I love my job eh'. Bill: ' Absolutely, well done Matt'. Sian: 'He doesn't say that when the camera's off'.
Well, I have to say I felt is most important on a Tuesday and after a stressful day I wasn't looking forward to, it was very important to celebrate Matts birthday for him. So I had pie for evening meal, then wine and a cream cake when I should have been blogging!! A good evening in all! And I hope Matt had a great day too, after he got in from the rain!!

    2008-06-03

Will he be back tomorrow? Is it an entire Matt week again?? We'll see! Hope I have time to blog if thats the case because I'm out again tomorrow evening!! Life has become a social whirl!!

    Many happy returns Matt.

    2nd June

A lovely and yet surprising re-appearance of Matt on Breakfast this morning! The thing is, I was having major issues with the digibox, with picture freezing all the time and sound spluttering so it was not a very good recording to say the least. Technology aint what it was! I also couldn't blog as I've had no internet connection since sunday night!!! Virgin Media....probably the worst broadband supplier in the world! In my personal experience anyway!

I have internet again! For how long...who knows! Like I've said my digibox was on the blink ( I think it was atmospherics that caused it So I don't have anything to transcribe, I think after a conversation about floral shirts Matt advised Bill not to wear one or he'll attract the bees!

    Matt raising up a storm

I knew Matt made the weather! Abracadabra, here's some more rain!

    30th May

So it seems I wasn't the only one to experience the torrential downpours, in fact not even a mention as Somerset suffered far worse from some major flash flooding.
Matt in his pink shirt today to try and cheer things up a bit. Suzanna said she'd just been camping during the school holidays and the weather was atrocious! Matt(laughing): 'I hope you're not holding me responsible for that Suzanna. Sorry about that anyway. Yes, there has been a lot of wet weather of late'.
A little bit of extra Matt today at 6.07 and 7.07 talking about the flash floods in Somerset.
After a discussion about the new 'shorts suit' Suzanna asked Matt if it was the day for shorts suit or long trousers. Matt: 'Err, generally long trousers I think, waterproof ones as well in one or two spots'
I'm happy to say that no wet weather gear was required on my day trip to Brighton, after a wander around Brighton Pavillion the sun actually came out and we had a walk along the pier and then sat outside a bar on the beach drinking cider, so not too bad at all considering the extremely temperamental weather at the moment!!
The first forecast I saw when I got up was the 7.50 one and it was so short that by the time I got round to loking at the weather map ( rather than the weatherman) Matt was already on Saturday!!! Doh!! so I had to make a choice on what to wear with no idea what the weather was planning for me! It sure was a grey old start but 3 o clock saw things inmprove quite substantially, I even took my jacket off for a while!!

And so we come to the end of another entire week of Matt on Breakfast, and back to the uncertainty of not knowing when he's going to appear next. Still, keeps me on my toes doesn't it.
