    31st March

Busy Monday morning for Matt, on Radio 4 and BBCi to start, then over to Breakfast at 8.15 and then News 24!! I didn't see the Breakfast forecasts because I wasn't expecting that! And by the time I heard I'd already left for work . Did get some News 24 forecasts though and he was looking very happy for a Monday morning, more than I was! I sooooooooo didn't want to get up this morning.

Another Five Live day for Matt and this time I did hear him. Nothing to report though. Just a bit of an improvement in the weather and things are looking better for later in the week

    29th March

I was hoping for a Breakfast appearance today but instead it was Five Live, just not the same really! CF on Breakfast today, a first I believe. And I'm not going to pretend that I heard Matt on Five Live this morning because....ummm...errr..... I didn't! I know it seems un-fanlike but a dvd arrived in the post this morning and I watched that !
So I haven't  seen/heard a forecast but we're definitely having some weather today!! A lovely spring weekend Just beautiful for the boat race!! Bet they're loving it!
As far as I'm aware though Matt has yet to burst into song about 'Raindrops keep falling from the sky...' like Tomasz did yesterday on News 24, another brilliant Tomasz moment, and the sun shining from dusk til dawn!! Lmao.

    26th March

Same night shift for Matt again last night, but I only saw one forecast because I needed an early night afore going back to work today .

He was wearing the nice rainbow tie again last night. Thankfully it was not to be a cold one this morning, I'm completely done with cold ones! I think, ironically, that since I moved south from Nottingham I've actually experienced more frosty mornings!! That is not as it should be!
The weekend is looking lovely    not! Here's Matt and Isobars, and Check out that Low for Friday!!!

    2008-03-26

Now many moons ago on JL Matt said his next working weekend was going to be the end of March, so............... does that mean Breakfast this weekend?? :)

    24th March

Matt's back tonight lucky him, on the night shift with Alex. He seems to have borrowed Tomasz's frozen ball tonight. Lots of blue all over the map, another chilly one. Lucky me, I don't have to go to work in the morning! Happy days! Matt says its a good night to stay wrapped up under the duvet, can't argue with that.
Rain on the way for me, when I DO have to go to work on Wednesday! Is it not time for some nice settled weather yet??
I'm liking the maroon tie tonight.
And he did my local forecast too :)

    21st March

Matt was on Five Live again today if the TBT is to be believed. Unfortunately I had some rubbish sleep last night so I was asleep this morning. I was awake for a while but couldn't quite bring myself to listen to Five Live! Once was enough! I'd image we won't see him again now til next week.

    20th March

No, no, no! Why is he not on TV today???  Typical, when I'm home to see him there's nothing to see!
So, I am no longer a Radio Five Live virgin but wish I was!! The things I go through for a weather forecast!! The Iraq 'debate'!
What can I say......Matt is giving weather forecasts on the radio today! Better than him not being around at all I guess! Not a lot to report though. I'm sure he looks lovely though and probably isn't wearing a tie of any variety today!
It's been quite sunny here this morning at times, and I think I might head out to get that Easter wine before the real weather sets in.
Matt did warn there'll be no sitting in the garden this weekend, and he did rather advise if you're heading for the outdoors, take your gloves, scarf and hat! Hat.....Mr G....hat!! :P

    19th March

A good day today! The dvd recording was............perfect! Go me!! Got there in the end! And Matt was on top form too, very chirpy, very smiley, very lovely. I've been spoilt for choice on pics today.
What I'd like to know is, what  was with the tie swapping??? For the 10.55 forecast, his first one, he had grey shirt and darker grey tie, by 11.30 he had a purple tie!!! Did he spill his coffee down the first one? Or decide to add a bit of colour?? Hmm.....answers on a postcard!
On todays forecasts we had lots of 'feels like' for Essex!
    2008-03-19 3

Now, definitely my personal favourite forecast of the day was the 11.55 with the webcam view of Southampton And it really was that sunny nearly all day! In that forecast we had the Soton webcam, isobars and the 'feels like' and I think that went for all the forecasts today actually. Matt was quite keen to show us the 'lovely' Easter weather thats coming in!! Personally I think its great staying indoors with a good book weather, but I might venture out at some point to get some Easter wine!

    2008-03-19 1

Tomorrow I'll be able to see him 'live' on the TV instead of 'live' on a dodgy realplayer online. Still, can't complain realplayer is better than nowt!
    A great Matt day!

    18th March

Matt was back today and I did marginally better on the recording front, I managed to get 4 and a half forecasts before I ran out of room on the disc because I forgot to erase what was previously recorded on there!! I am NOT having a good week, last day at work tomorrow, THANK GOD!!! I checked european temperatures for Easter and I although vastly better than ours I wasn't overly impressed, it seems the best place I could run away to, given half a chance, would be Egypt way! 24 degress, very nice indeed, I can't remember what that feels like but I know its good!
Matt was not giving us good Easter weather news, don't put away the woolly long johns he said!! An indoor Easter break it seems.
We had isobars on todays forecast to tell the story over the next few days, and Matt had his bright yellow tie on to try and cheer things up a bit!

    2008-03-18 2

Now just look at all that weather! Hmph!!

And check this Mr G, Exeter, Southampton and Matt all in the same picture!( except because half the picture is off the page you can't see Southampton -damnit!)

    2008-03-18 1

Well, same again tomorrow I guess, and you never know, I *might* get all the forecasts tomorrow!! 3rd time lucky and all that!!!! I'm not sure where my brain is at the moment its definitely not with me.

    17th March

Our favourite weatherman was back on TV today on News 24 from 10.55 but what silly billy recorded the wrong channel???????
I was trying to speedily set the dvd this morning before leaving for work but ended up recording BBC1 in stead of News24! Zero marks for attention to detail....but it was Monday morning! Can't expect too much I suppose.

Now luckily.... I have a very good friend who just happened to have his dvd set and caught all the action! And what a tan Matt has!! Couldn't tell last week when he was out in the garden, but the contrast between shirt and skin today is something else!! He must have been somewhere very hot and sunny...lucky lucky lucky!

    isobars

Those isobars are nice and far apart over us right now!

I like that pink/purple tie, it reminds me of a frozen dessert I used to have as a kid!
I may not have recorded any forecasts but at least I saw all but one 'live', so it was a good day.

    16th March

A surprise appearance on Five Live this morning I hear! I didn't hear it myself because I'd pretty much only just gone to sleep then! I had what you might call, quite a lie-in yesterday and stayed up til 3am watching 'A Haunting' on Discovery Science channel, but still didnt switch off the computer til 4.30 this morning! I have to say I have never listened to five Live yet.
No further evidence of Mr Taylor that I am aware of.

    14th March

    A day at the races!

Wow, we got really lucky this week, not only was Matt back but they sent him to Cheltenham for Gold Cup today too! And guess what?? ........Yes, another different jacket!! Lmao, 5 days, 5 jackets! Brilliant, I assume Matt has a wardrobe especially for jackets because I know from personal experience they take up a lot of room!!
Looks like he had a good one this morning. At one point he said it had been a truly magical start to the day seeing the mist lift steadily and the sun come out!!( none of that round these parts!!) He said most of us would be waking up to a dry and bright start, but not for me! Full wet weather gear for the walk from the car to the office.

At 8.49 Matt said he was living a charmed life with a glorious sunny start to the day.
Matt loves his weather facts at the race courses, telling us the race was snowed off in 1978! But then it is only March, I keep forgetting!!
After the 7.15ish forecast Susanna asked what they were doing in the background, and Matt replied they were going round filling in all the holes, some essential repairs to get them through the coming day.

    2008-03-15 1

I'm hoping for not too much rain tomorrow, we all have to go out buy alcohol before it goes up Sunday night!!! I'd like to bet the supermarkets might have some 'special deals' on around now and into next week! I reckon this week is a chill out, and mainly stay indoors weekend!
I see the weather is sunnier from Monday!! No good for us workers! Although I'm lucky, Wednesday is my last day! Woohoo!

    2008-03-14 3

Well, it has been brill to have Matt back this week after such a long absense. And a much better weather end to the week than the start when they made him stand outdoors in all that wind and rain. And when will we see him again?? Who knows....we'll just have to keep an eye out.

    2008-03-14 2

Matt with Sue at the racecourse.

    13th March

Well, that was typical this morning, at the time I have the TV on ( and I only get to see one forecast) that $£%%*& from downing street was on!!! Though I was going to get no forecast!! Was gettting very worried, but we did get a forecast albeit a short one, but definitely better than nothing! And guess what.....another different jacket!!   Does he have another different one for tomrrow?? Probably depends on the weather!

Matt was looking very happy this morning, probably pleased to be giving us a more normal forecast for a change! And that he wasn't getting washed away or blown away or both!

    2008-03-13

I have very mixed feelings about it being Friday tomorrow. I am looking forward to the weekend  very very much but then we lose Matt, and despite a rotten start to the week weatherwise and all sorts of wise, Matt being back has made it bearable, and today was a much much better day. So I assume we have one more Matt morning, as that seems to be the pattern these days.

    12th March

Matt is making the most of his jacket wardrobe this week, different one every day so far! Still very windy everywhere again today, the focus seems to be on the north of the country but its rather windy down these southern parts too! Or 'blowing a hoolie' seems to be the weathermens saying of choice at the moment. I'm guessing thats a scottish saying, never heard before til a few days ago!

It was really noticeable this morning how early it gets light now, at just after 6 we saw Matt in the garden in the dark and by the time of the forecast at about 6.18 it was light! Wow, and the clocks will be changing soon as well.

     2008-03-12 2

It's been an isobarfest this week so far! I think it might be over now though.

I managed to avoid all budget talk today, I really hope I can do the same tomorrow, I have a feeling the mute button will come in very handy!! Can't be doing with getting angry before I leave the house!

Lucky we have Matt to cheer things up!

    11th March

Ok, so today I was better prepared! TV sorted, freeview box working, DVD working....everything! Amazing!

Matt had a much drier broadcast day from the Blue Peter garden today! But he did admit to still being the prophet of doom as the big winds are due to come back again tonight. Yesterday it was mainly the south that got battered, tonight its the norths turn! Seems fair!

     2008-03-11 3

Those arrows looked just like little tadpoles as they went round corners!

Prior to the 7.21 forecast they showed the children eating fruit and one little girl with her head on the table to which Matt commented: If we did that we wouldnt be able to get back up again I don't think this morning. Anyway I've got a little bit of a smile on my face because its a little bit drier and brighter as well, but I have to say that once again I am the prophet of doom, we've got more severe weather heading our way'.

I will have to adjust my dvd timer tomorrow as Matt got cut off in his prime at just gone 10 past 9   Tut, tut, I must just be sooo out of practice!

    10th March

Matt's back! Yippee! Wow, what a Monday morning!! Big weather and Matt back, this has to be about as good as a Monday can get! Poor Matt out in the Blue Peter garden in wet weather gear on his first day back, in the wind and rain.

Ok, so personally my day got much worse after I got to work, just one of those days where you wish you'd stayed in bed!!

I woke up rather quickly this morning when I heard Matt was on, and obviously too quickly because I messed the tv and dvd up completely, and recorded sky 3!! Didn't even know I had sky 3...where did that come from??? So after a rubbish day at work I come home to find......no Matt recording Gutted!

But...... Mr G to the rescue, he is obviously better at mornings than I am, and has sent me supplies of pics.

And what some weather Matt had to tell us about, whilst experiencing it first hand!! Bless.

    Poor Matt

Well, I was going to add photo's but my blog doesnt like Mr G's file format!!!  I tell you....today....nightmare!! I'd like to forget it ever happened apart from the bit where Matt was back on our screens!!

I will try and get them into another format, but not now.....I'm going to dreamland and hoping I don't have a nightmare!! (ok, so I did get them into another format with a little help from my friends!)

Would you look at the swirl on that

And he still manages to look lovely even when soaking wet!!

It's pouring with rain outside now, I hope it stops for Matt by the morning! I must admit I havent had a chance to look at a chart this evening so I have no idea what the weather is for tomorrow.

    7th March

So......John came back, and has been on loads, Tom came back and has been on quite a lot for him too! But.................still no sign of Matt!! It's been 3 weeks now!!!! He must have gone a long way!  Of course I hope he's having a nice break but...we need him back!
