    30th December

As Mr George already added a comment about today for me, he's absolutely right in that there wasn't a lot of banter to report today, no isobars or temperature profiles. We missed yet another forecast at 6.45, which I wasn't too happy about because I didn't wake up til 6.30 and so missed the first forecast. Matt was as lovely as ever of course. Bill was having trouble with his eyesight and his speech, don't know what he'd been on Saturday night!
Susanna said she's on Breakfast New Years day morning and wants us to tune in!!   Can't see that happening myself! I think I'd struggle even if Matt was on. Matt did say he'd try and tune in. Good luck with that!!

    2007-12-30

Matt with his christmas tree on News 24 after Breakfast. He did the 9.25, 9.55 and 10.25 forecasts before it was over to Tomasz Schafernaker.
And a little birdie tells me that Matt will not be back now til Friday!

    29th December

Gosh, this christmas holiday is going way too fast! 29th already!! Matt and Susanna are still looking festive though, both in their bright red jumpers this morning. Matt had a nice snowy scene this morning, and a snowy globe but unfortunately not for most of us, just a square patch up north.
Certainly was a blustery night last night which seems to have all gone through now.
No forecast at 6.45!!!   I like 'Click' but when its stopping us seeing Matt something needs to be done!!!!
Apparently a lot of people died this year!! So many that we couldnt have a forecast at 7.45 either!!  Shocking!

At 8.15 Susanna asked if Matts jumper was a Christmas jumper! ....Does it have snowflakes on it? No! Then it can't be can it!

Ohhh, its quarter to and we got a forecast!! Full of surprises this morning!

YAY!   Internet is back!! That was soo hellish! Felt like I'd slipped into a black hole and into another dimension!! 2 and a half days without connectivity!! Even my mobile phone couldn't get internet Saturday morning, I was fully horrified! The engineer came late this morning and resumed service. Phew! I feel better now.
And thanks to Mr George for keeping on top of things for me, well, apart from the cheeky comments! As if!

    2007-12-29

A very snowy scene there I think Matt just wanted to get in because its christmas and we've missed out again. And the jumper is definitely not a christmas jumper as I have photographic evidence of him wearing earlier this year! Which can be seen here
    So Susanna, there you go!!

    28th Decemeber

Yay! It's a Matt Breakfast today. Out in the BP garden again in the blue jacket. At least it's not cold out there today. Southampton and Essex getting a mention in the first forecast of the day!   Tonight sounds exciting with the squally showers! Bit breezy out there at times now by the sounds of it.
Matt has sun on his map for Sunday which is good news, cos Nick wasn't bringing me sunshine last night!! I want to try out my new camera!!
Awww, a really nice bye, have a good day there from Matt then.
Time for a kip I reckon after only two hours sleep!! Thats me, not Matt! Although it might be Matt as well, who knows! He might still be burning that candle at both ends and in the middle!

    24th December

Here we are, Christmas eve, awaiting Matt in his santa hat later on. Christmas starts here! John has just been on with green tie to match the Christmas tree!

More later if I'm not too drunk to blog!

Not too drunk yet! First weather forecast of the evening in the middle of Pirates! Nice new red tie for Christmas, alas no santa hat!
Rumour has it that Santa might have a new camera for me for Christmas so I'm happy to hear Boxing day might be quite nice in order to go out photographing! (not sure thats a word but for now it is!!)
It's a veritable man fest on TV tonight! Johnny, Orlando and Matt, one barely knows where to look! News 24 of course, seen Pirates loads of times.
I couldnt possibly ask for a better Christmas eve!

ooo oooo oooo Southampton got a mention on the second forecast of the night :D

Another mention of the romantics amongst us! hmm, chance would be a fine thing! When I get someone to be romantic with I'll whisk him off to Lapland or the like, can't go far wrong then! Log cabin, the lot! White christmas in England, especially the south has to be like winning the lottery!

    2007-12-24

This picture does not quite have the right colours, the tie was much brighter on real tv. Will see what I can do with it.

Hey, the 5 to the hour forecasts are mean to be longer ones! 12.55 was another short one, we didnt even get boxing day!! We've been swizzled!!
Ahh that's better, longer one this time, even went into Thursday, and isobars included too! And wishing us Merry Christmas at the end too. Which it has been, best Christmas eve I've had for a while!
Matt said he hates to disapoint, but no snow. As if he ever disappoint us. Here we are waiting up for Santa and keeping Matt company so he's not alone for christmas eve! Mad? Yes, more than likely!
I do have a chimney in my room but no sign of the guy in the red suit!    I was told a long time ago that Santa doesnt come if you don't go to sleep!! hmmm dilemma!!!

    23rd December

A surprise appearance today of Matt on BBCi and apparently Radio 4. Not on News 24 though. I wasn't expecting that! No festive tie or santa hat yet though, is he saving that for tomorrow when he's  on Santa's shift?? Now obviously I would never want to say anything about Matt's forecast to infer that it wasnt quite accurate, U-( however on BBCi uk forecast Southampton had misty foggy stuff still for 1 o clock, but when I woke up at 11.42 it was a lovely sunny day. In the afternoon I went to the seaside via the forest and there was some mist still in places and it looked pretty good but I dont have any photos, it was a race to get to the sea before sunset! The sea was about as calm as I've ever seen it at Milford-on-sea. A place that really gets battered by the winds at times and spectacular waves.

    18th December

It's looking like a Matt night tonight, but as for the blogging......I'm forecasting ....severe delays!  I'm out for the next two evenings so blogging will be at the earliest Friday evening, and I'm not too hopeful for that after two nights out and another Xmas do Friday lunchtime!!!  So if Matt is around much in the next few days I'm going to be looking at some major back log!!! Full time job this! I don't know how I find time to work! (No comments from you either Mr G!!)

Back soon.......Sooner than I thought! He's got that tie on that I've been wanting to see on the big screen! Wow! Amazing, it's bright alright! But good, I like it!

Finally I'm back! What a week! I fell at the first fence really. Drank a tad too much wine on Wednesday evening and I don't think the meal was enough to soak up the excess! Thursday evening I only mamanged 2 and a half pints of cider and by Friday I was very tired! Terrible! Must practice more for next year!

Back to Matt. Southampton was mentioned on the 1.55 am forecast!    And we had a temperature chart on one forecast too. No appearance on JL as expected, but Phil Avery was on and did tell her that Matt sent his regards. Awww so sweet!

    That tie:

    2007-12-22

Matt did make an unexpected appearance on Thursday afternoon but being at work I didnt see him of course. :( Purple striped tie this time.

The next time we see him will most likely be Christmas eve overnight as he told us on JL one night. Is there anything more we could ask for for Christmas??

    16th December

Now for the excuses!!  This morning/afternoon I was a little......ok a bit more than a little hungover!!    Then, when I was feeling better, I was having major internet connection difficulties so no blogging was possible therefore I will have to catch up tomorrow evening. Not a great deal to report anyhow, at least Matt had Penny around today so not a  one-man show this time.

I'm hoping, in a way, that Matt isnt around too much this week because I have 4 christmas parties to attend! Tuesday thru Friday!!! Thankfully we finish on Friday til 4th Jan! Nice!! Happy days!

Before the 6.15 forecast Bill said: 'Will we be wanting to fly somewhere warmer once we've heard the weather forecast from Matt?'
Matt: 'Yes I think you will, not quite the crisp and clear start we were expecting'.

'Bill' comment on a trailer for a Spice Girls Report later on Breakfast: 'Was the spice girls comeback with the sweet smell of success or the musk of old spice?'  Bill laughing. Susanna: 'I think Matt can get you out of that one. Matt whats the weather like?'  Matt: 'Always here on standby eh. A bit of spice to warm up your life at the moment I think. Again its a bit on the cold side out there.'

After Breakfast Matt was on News 24 for longer than usual again today but not quite as bad as Saturday! And I did see him on BBCi World forecast, and he probably was on the UK one but by the time I was feeling alive enough to tune into the real world John Hammond was on the UK one.

     2007-12-18

Look at that big high pressure!!! COLD!!!!!!

    15th November

After a very early night last night, hence no blogging, I was awake for Matt's first forecast this morning on Breakfast. I do prefer to see Breakfast live if I can, its not quite the same in the middle of the afternoon!
He's a very busy bee this morning it seems, after Breakfast straight to VK as usual but no real chat because he had to dash off to do News 24 at 10.30 and 11 and still he said he'd be back!! Tomasz is on the TBT for this morning but seems to be missing, perhaps he still hasn't stopped giggling!
No real big news in the weather today: cold, cold and colder!!
After a clip of Mike Bushell all dressed up in his armour Bill says: 'Matt Taylor will be our knight in shining armour  with the weather this weekend' Matt: 'I'll tell you something, you'll need something a bit warmer than shining armour this morning, a chilly start for most of us and the cold weather continues for the foreseeable future'. On the 7.15 foreast we got a temperature chart *and* isobars!! Mr George would be mpressed! But as he's house hunting in Exeter this weekend then he'll have to wait to see it!!
At 7.45 , after a clip of the Bees Gees and their 30th anniversary of Saturday Night Fever,Bill: 'Here's a man who's very much live and alive, Matt Taylor'.
And the 7.45 forecast again following a Bee Gees trailer Bill says to Susanna: 'Did you just see what I saw on the previous screen?' Susanna: 'Here's Matt disco dancing'.  Matt laughs. Bill says 'Make those moves, go on make them again'  Matt: 'No, no,no, I did that off-air I didn't think you'd be able to see that....thats not fair' Much hilarity. 'Anyway lets get on with the weather less night fever more night freezing during the next 24 hours, in fact the next few days, its turning very cold over many parts of the country.'
Bill: 'We dont blame you,its very catchey music , we've done a bit of hand rolling and finger pointing ourselves this morning Mattt'
Matt: 'Yeah, but its easier off-air when noboby else is watching'.

And after a discussion about the office christmas party,
Bill: 'Anything about Matt Taylor at the office party?'  Susanna:' I saw it all'....Matt'
Matt: 'Aaaa, watch what you say....No I was pure and innocence, exact picture of angel face here.'  We believe you!!
And Before the 9.15 forecast Bill: 'You know who's just as sweet every time around don't you?'  Susanna: 'It's Matt with the weather'.
Matt: 'You're being far too kind to me this morning, getting very suspicious there'.

Quite a busy banter day today really they must be getting in to the christmas spirit, or the christmas spirit is getting into them!! One or the other! Matt had a fleeting forecast on VK this morning because he then has to run off and do the News 24 forecast and up to 12.30 he'd done every forecast on BBC this since 6.15 this morning!! Go Matt!!

No frozen ball for Matt this morning, will he dare put one on the forecast tomorrow morning?? Surely the frozen ball comment has flown around the BBC in the last 24 hours!

    2007-12-15

And Matt is *still* on!! On the 1 o clock forecast and he just said see you in half an hour!! AND he's on BBCi uk and World weather!! Today Matt Taylor IS the BBC weather centre!!!! He's earning his money today for sure!!  Bless!

OMG! 3.30 and Matt is *still* on News 24!! 9 and a half hours of half hourly weather forecasts!!!  Is that legal???  Where is everyone else??? Has the plague hit the BBC weather centre and Matts the last man standing?!?!?!
In the end Matts final forecast was at 4pm!! He's been like the little duracell bunny today, just going on and on and on and on! Hope he's got no Christmas party tonight!!!

    14th November

Not a Matt post this one, but probably the best forecast of 2007! Yesterday Tomasz Schafernaker got the fit of giggles and could barely speak, it's hilarious! You just can't help but laugh and at the same time feel his pain at being unable to concentrate on what he wants to say!

    14th December

Late again with my blogging but I was just way too tired to blog last night. This weekend our third Matt weekend in a row! Nice. Matt now sporting a rather warmer jacket for his forecast from the BP garden. After  a mention of the new England football manager Bill says:
'How fabio could the weather be? At all? Here's Matt Taylor'. Matt: 'Not too much this morning Bill, Susanna, a very good morning to you'
And as introduction to the 6.43 forecast Bill says' And here's another angel, Matt' And Bill mumbles 'well we hope he is') Matt laughs and says his usual 'Thank you very much Bill'. At the end of the forecast Susanna says: 'Matt, thank you very much, lets change you into Declan, morning Declan'. Declan smiling says: 'I think Matt got the rough end of that deal didnt' he.'
Again following talk of the new England manager Matt said 'I was going to try a bit of Italian then, but I can't think of any straight away''.
And again at the end of the forecast Susanna says 'Matt, thanks very much, and at this point you morph into Declan again, hello Declan.'
Declan: 'You have to stop doing this to the poor boy, whats he ever done to deserve that type of treatment' .
At 8.15 Matt would not be drawn into the subject of womens lingerie!! lol

After a discussion about regional accents Bill introduces Matt by saying: 'And now one from the north-east, although he's in the Blue Peter garden, hello Matt'. Matt : 'Hello, not north-east at all,I'm from all over the place Bill, but anywhere but the north east'.
At the end of the forecast Susanna said they had to clear up where he was from, so they called him back and asked him. Reply: 'I was born in Blackburn, lived in Glasgow, Wales and Leeds, so I've been all over the place, picked up the accent everywhere I go'. Bill: 'So one place you've never lived is TyneSide?' Matt: 'I've never lived in Tyneside, not yet, still time yet'. So thats that all cleared up. Not that us true Matt fans didnt know that already!

    10th December

Matt is on overnight shift tonight, so eyes peeled on News 24 from 9.25 onwards and tomorrow mornings local forecasts.

Ok, very late blogging for Monday night. but with hindsight at least we know Matt was right. Frost everywhere and extra layers needed!! And everyone was saying what a fantastic surise there was....I didnt see it! Where was I??? No idea! Even thought I was awake, perhaps still asleep! Sleep driving???

Matt did seem very happy and jolly this night! He did get his words a bit mixed up at 21.25, bless. And in a later forecast he advised us to put an extra duvet on our blanket!! lol

Mr George got Essex mentioned in the local forecast Tuesday morning.

I have no idea what time of the night the local forecasts are recorded but I want some of what Matts on! How can he be so energetic and enthusiastic in the middle of the night!?!?!

    2007-12-12

It's not really possible to capture Matts enthusiasm in screenshots, it has to be seen. I have tried uploading a video clip but yet again it wont work, so another nice pic instead for now.

    9th December

Well, get me, I set the dvd correctly last night!! Amazing the things you can achieve when sober! In an effort to listen out for 'exciting weather' I didnt use earplugs last night, but alas I have to say I was a little disappointed. We did get some blustery wind when the showers went through but on the whole not too bad. The electronic barometer was going mad with its warnings yesterday and is still flashing now! but we've had worse! ie. Thursday night I believe even though I didnt hear it due to the earplugs!
Watching Matt this morning it seems the south west and south Wales have taken the brunt of it and I would fancy being anywhere near the Channel today. Southampton got another mention today on the 07.15  forecast    'some of the heaviest showers around the Isle of Wight, and I think the Southampton and Reading areas'   I was still dozing then :-)

Matt said there had been water spouts this morning on the north coast of France! Pictures, I want pictures!! I'm imaging it wasnt quite this dramatic:

    waterspouts
I'm not looking forward to that 'raw northerly wind' coming in for Monday!    I've just bought wet weather gear!!! And now I need my ski gear out?? shessh, typical.

Change of shirt for Matt for his appearance on News 24 after Breakfast, white shirt and purple tie. And as always he's on BBCi UK and World weather. No isobars on the world today but instead a temperature profile for north america showing a very stark contrast over there. I'm trying to get a picture of that without luck at the moment, I'll come back to it. Matt also mentioned The Mistral today,  in France, saying it was in full force:
( The Mistral usually develops as a cold front moves down across France piling up the air in the Alps before spilling over the top and rushing down the Rhône valley between the Alps and Cevennes at speeds of up to 95mph towards the French Riviera and the Gulf of Lyon. In the winter the wind pours down the Rhône valley in an icy flow that can seem relentless. It can last a fortnight in winter, but it's also common in spring, and occurs less often in Summer. In Provence the Mistral blows as often as 100 days of the year, gusting to force 10 and above. Marseilles and St.Tropez generally take the full brunt of this cold, strong wind as it reachs the sea. It does not usually affect the Roussillon or Languedoc, apart from the area around the Rhône delta - the famous Camargue.)
    Always teaching us new things!

    2007-12-09

Oh yes, yes, yes!! I did it!! Finally the software worked and I got a picture of North America looking all contrasting.

    2007-12-09 USA

Very cool! And literally, in Canada and north North America, as well!

    8th December

oooh terrible drunken badness! I set the dvd for Breakfast before I went to sleep last night/this morning only thing was I set it for the next day even though it was already gone midnight at the time!!! Doh!!! I even woke up at 6am and didnt realise the dvd wasnt doing its stuff!! No hope!
I have it on good authority that Matt was out yesterdayat the Breakfast Christmas party and that when Susanna left, he was still there!  Good on him!
So I didnt see Breakfast from first thing this morning so I missed 5 forecasts!!!    Very poor show I know!

Southampton got a big mention today, webcam pic (seems we have a cruise ship in dock right now - could be the new Queen Victoria, but not sure) and everything!

    2007-12-082007-12-08 01

He's also been on VK on Radio 1 this morning too, nothing much to report on that:

I am going to brave it and head to the outdoors today because we have no christmas decs for our office!! Shocking! Luckily its not far. I will take Matt's advice and wrap up warm though because it's looking a little bit breezy out there now too and yesterday that wind was well cold!!

No Matt on BBCi yet but I'm sure he will be later, keep an eye out! Wonder if he'll put isobars all over the planet like Tomasz did on the World weather yesterday, that was well cool!
Matt was on BBCi UK and world forecasts and he was wearing that very colourful tie again, but yet again when he was on the tiny screen so couldnt really see it properly. Also he had isobars all over the planet on his world forecast, yay! Must be a new thing.

    7th December

We embark on a very blustery Matt weekend today with poor Matt out in the BP garden in his very smart blue jacket getting blown about a bit. Lucky he didnt need an umbrella, we might have lost him!!

Susanna: 'Coming up in a moment a musical treat with Treatro, first here's someone else worth making a song and dance about, its Matt with some rather windy weather' . Matt: 'Yes, A lot of windy weather to come for you this weekend'. Definitely worth making a song and dance about, no arguements here on that score!

Ok, I got this far before the brandy kicked in! It is Friday after all!!! It's not very good is it! Well Matt did keep saying to keep an eye on the weather forecast, but how is that possibly when you keep getting distracted by the forecaster!!!  It's a good thing it's on every half an hour, eventually you'll get to remember what the forecast is!

And I know I may have had a drink or two but it's soooooooooooooooo not my fault I cant upload this video clip!!! Grrr. I will try again in the cold light of day, when no doubt, Matt will be warning us of Sundays events!!! But for now....as its almost 2am.........sleep I reckon!

    4th December

oooo, apologies for update delay, bit tired last night, the brain was refusing to work.  I'm not saying its hugely better today but I'l do my best!

Busy busy Matt last night on News 24 every half an hour and on the local forecasts on Breakfast this morning AND on JL on Radio 2!!
The clouds are going to be into a bit of cloud hugging apparently, they're going to hug the hills, aww bless, I'm sure the hills will like that!
On the 11.30 forecast Chris was looking at the papers and their was someone dressed up as a bear. Chris: 'Right Matt Taylor, dressed very smartly, here with the weather forecast.' Matt: 'Hello Chris, yes, not dressed up as a bear, but anyway, its rather on the chilly side out there, you'll probably need a bear costume to keep yourself warm at the moment'.

On my local forecast Matt had the showers treacling in, not sure if he meant trickling, never can tell with all these new 'technical terms' ! but the news presenter picked up on it!

And of course his appearance on JL at that ungodly hour of the morning, and it seems Matt is concerned that Santa may bypass him because he's going to be awake all night Christmas eve! Awww I'm sure Santa wont miss Matt if he's been a good boy! To check Matts current rating or your rating click here

And if you want to see the real Santa in Lapland meeting people then click here but please remember that it is live and you can only see Santa on the indoor webcam during office hours and Lapland are two hours ahead of UK time. There's also an outdoor webcam (The last time I looked you could see it snowing) and if you have your speakers on there is sound too.

Anyway, enough of Santa, back to Matt on JL, listen here:

Matt hasnt been around today so far but I've just got his stint on VK on Radio 1 on Saturday:

So the know-it-all, I-am-great Vernon Kaye couldn't face up to the word meteorological then!! Too many syllables for him I suppose! And then Matt with his amazing weather fact!

Ohh, now then! Matt on News 24 at 9.28, Yay! It's the usual Monday overnighter then, so a nice start to Tuesday with him doing my local forecast on Breakfast, I knew this morning this week was going to be good!
My God, check out that rain for Thursday! :-/

    2nd December

As mad as I am I've just seen Matt do his first forecast on Breakfast today but I havent been to sleep yet!! Today is going to be very tiring/short/messy!!
If sunshine is going to be in short supply today then we always have Matt in his yellow shirt to cheer things up. Monday morning is looking quite dry and bright though!
It's 7.30 now and I am just starting to hear the wind and the rain on my window, yay!
I did manage to catch about 3 hours sleep from about 8.30 but was woken up by the front going through at about 11.10, heavy rain,  strong winds...very exciting!! Then shortly after the sun came out and we had blue sky for quite a while!! But I'm still having my duvet day!

Matt had a few technical issues before the 7.45 broadcast but it all came good.

A quick wardrobe change after Breakfast back to suit and tie to keep us updated on our rather blustery weekend. He has also mentioned rumbles of thunder in places and although I've not heard any plenty have shown up on my lightning detector (obviously thats lightning not thunder but...no smoke without fire!!)

    1st December

And in weather news: a blustery weekend! Matt said more sunshine today and I believe he was right, it was sunny when I woke up but then half the day was over by then!!    I just dont know where the morning went! Once I finally woke up I did head to the outdoors for a while and it was a little breezy too!!  With Sunday round the corner its time to hibernate!

Bill: 'Did you say superstar looks? It must be time for the weather and Matt'. Matt laughs: 'Thank you Bill, it takes 3 hours for this in make-up and still , I'm still struggling'' .  What??? As if!

Lmao, a bucket load of showers over Scotland!!!    a couple of times today, proper technical term there of course! I love it when he gets technical!

On our 8.20 forecast we had isobars, and Matt tells us the incoming front is a fairly active little fella!! Lashings of isobars all round today on many forecasts.

At the end of Breakfast they were reading out some emails about restaurant service charges and so Bill introduced Matt by way of: ' And before we go here's Matt who's worth every penny of oooh ......50% tip...'.   Matt : 'Thank you very much but you might want to send me back after you've heard this forecast, a very blustery weekend to come over much of the UK'. Send him back?? . . . . . Never! Come back every day for a repeat order more like!

    2007-12-01

Check out those tightly packed isobars for tomorrow!!

I've not seen any News 24 today so I don't know if he was on there at all but he was on BBCi with the uk and world forecasts.

    2007-12-01

Look at that lovely weather in Buenos Aires!! Lots of summer sunshine. Snow falling over the northern Alps though on Monday, good news for the skiers! Wish I could go to Lapland again in the new year, but unfortunately not this time. They' ve had lots of snow over the last few weeks there, much better for them than this time last year when they had very little, after a good covering in October which later melted, and all those people going to see Santa must have been quite disappointed.
