Don't Blame It On The Weatherman!

30th November

Yay!! Its a Matt weekend, and not only is Matt around but some very busy weather too! Seeing the forecast before I left for work this morning I was forewarned that by the time I left tonight it would be pouring.......and it was!! Not only that, but I found I had a broken umbrella and a shoe with the sole split from one side to the other!! Lucky my 10 minute walk to the car is mostly on hills so big puddles were not a problem! Now by the seems of it a quick trip to the local shops tomorrow to get a few bits of food then hide away indoors for Sunday!
As usual Matt was outside this morning, lucky for him the nasty weather hadn't reached us yet. I don't think he'd want to be out there this coming Sunday! It does look like Mr George and I are going to be getting the worst of it then!
Squally showers, fronts steaming in from the Atlantic, its all go out there!
Bill recommended: 'If they do fairtrade rope you might want to go out and buy some this weekend to tie things down, morning Matt'
Matt: 'oh yes, certainly thats the case Bill, some very windy weather to come during the next 3 days'. And also for Mr Georges benefit : 'And do be preapred if you're just about to head off for the commute into work' . !!!!!

So here we start a cosy weekend staying indoors wherever possible and watching Matt keep us up to date on the inclement weather!

26th November

Another night shift for Matt tonight! Back on News 24, now I simple can't stay up til 1 o clock tonight!! Some speedy bloggin before bedtime!! So I'm guessing another nice start to my morning tomorrow morning with Matt doing my local forecast. Can this week get any better!! A new maroon tie tonight then!

Matt was right about the dense fog across central and southern England! It was well grim as I headed to the outdoors this morning but sometime after arriving at work the fog really came down for a while.  I think it was just too grim for me to even notice it was milder!
Looking forward to a bit of sun on Thursday but am very scared of the weekend after looking at the jet stream!!
Next question....will Matt be back tonight??? I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see!
The inaccuracy of the TBT has definitely been phenomenal recently but now it's not being updated at all!!

25th November

Oh my! Matt on News 24!! And obviously as confused about his shifts as we are....saying good morning to us at 10.30 at night!! So not an entirely Matt-less weekend after all! Looking very happy, chirpy rather unlike the weather tomorrow!!  See, I heard the weather as well as watched Matt!! And I've been drinking! I'm very impressed with myself!
Ok, he's caught up with us now and realises its evening, thats good. Nice pale blue stripey tie tonight.

We nearly lost him for the 11 forecast, a slight technical hitch, but we found him. I saw him again at 1am and this time he was saying Good morning and he was right! Well, about the 'morning' bit anyway! He was looking absolutely adorable last night.
This morning he was on the local forecast on Breakfast. What a great way to start a Monday morning!

24th November

Sooooo, I can only assume that Matt being on the TBT yesterday was a red herring to keep us guessing! Because he's not on there today!
Well he might not be around forecast-wise but he is appearing on News 24 today when they are discussing the rising cost of fuel prices. It looks like Thursday's tie so we (Mr George and I)  reckon it was recorded then!

23rd November

I'm very confused!!! Matt is meant to be on tonight ( according to the highly unreliable TBT page) but no signs yet. Carol has been on Breakfast all week. Louise did my local forecast this morning which suggests she was on overnight last night and Alex is currently doing the world weather on BBCi, which begs the question.....who is on Breakfast tomorrow??????
This whole shift swapping around thing is highly disorientating!!!  Where are we? Who are we? Why are we?? Oh I'm sure it'll be sorted soon....I hope!!! But how will I sleep tonight! Wondering, wondering!

22nd November

Matts back again today on the morning/early afternoon shift!   What does this mean for tomorrow???
I can't hear him but he looks happy and chirp. so far seen him on BBCi uk and world weather and News24 just a second ago. He had his icy globe out today too, so pretty! It's all nice and sunny here right now. An ideal day for popping down to the German Xmas Market for a mug of mulled wine! (If i wasnt at work!) oh well, maybe the weekend.

21st November

Matt was on while I was at work today!! I did manage to catch him doing the UK and World forecast on BBCi. And what about that tie? I wish I could have seen it on the big screen (TV at home)  because it looked pretty amazing, in a good way!. I'll just have to hope he wears it again when I can see him on TV. I hear he was on News 24 too.

18th November

Matt had very bad weather news for us today! I could hear the rain on my window and the wind howling down the chimney as soon as I woke up! But more about that tomorrow I'm afraid cos it's bedtime now and getting ready to re-start my old job! Well, the plan was to blog last night but a friend rang up for the entire evening so that put paid to my blogging plans! Plan B, blog tonight!!

Ok, Ok.....I'm finally blogging Sunday on Wednesday!! I only wish I could say it was because my life is one social whirl but nothing quite as exciting as that!

Sunday morning Matt was giving very good advice!  Matt: 'Now the best advice I can give you this morning is, grab yourself a warm drink, snuggle down in the sofa, and stay in, its going to be a rather miserable day out there for many of us'.
Lots of Met Office severe weather warnings for stron winds and rain, and snow in some areas.
And in summary at the end of the last forecast: ' So, not a great  looking couple of days, best to wrap up warm and stay indoors, but from me and the rest of the Breakfast team enjoy your Sunday, bye bye.'
Matt seemed very chirpy today despite the atrocious weather he was telling us about. And for Mr George's benefit  he was even on the wrong side of the map again at one point!

17th November

Matt was back on Breakfast today, yay! But I have been travelling the world today.......... well, the Isle of Wight and back anyway! So I will have to catch up and blog tomorrow cos tired now! All I will say is...it was bloody cold!! And rather wet at times!! Had to have a bath when I got home to defrost and bring the body back to life!
I think the highlight of the morning was Matt's promotion of the e-bay auction to win ' A day being a weatherman at TV centre' and meet your favourite weather presenter!!! Well, I did my best, I bought a lottery ticket but it didnt work, so a bid was out of the question Gutted!:

I think Matt forgot to put his rain spots over the Isle of Wight! There was quite a lot of it! My friend and I went for a short in the rain between pubs! Luckily one of the pubs had a lovely real log fire burning, which was very nice to come back too!

14th November

An overnight shift for Matt again last night. He was on BBCi and on JL's show. He said the nightshift has changed and he may not be on JL again this year!! Ok, so thats only about 6 weeks, but still!!

9th November

A surprise Matt appearance this morning. Mr George informs me that Matt did the first forecast on Breakfast this morning, which was prior to my alarm going off, then Alex took over reporting from the Thames Barrier. Then I was off to work with no access to the outside world   thankfully this will soon change!  When we next see Matt again will be another surprise!

6th November

Matt was on an overnighter last night but as I'm not a vampire I didnt see him. He was on JL's show tho. Unfortunately I can't record it right now because the player won't let me fast forward!! So I will make another attempt tomorrow. Mr George has come to the rescue and provided me with the JL show, many thanks! So here it is:

4th November

Well, they're not making it easy for me on Breakfast these days with little to no banter! What can I say? Matt was his usual lovely cheerful self, how does he do that on a Sunday morning at work when the rest of the world is still in bed, and at 6am probably still asleep! (except Mr George!!)
Matt is also currently appearing on BBCi on the UK and world forecasts. And we better make the most of it as Matt told us yesterday on VK's show that he wont be on next weekend!!   What will we do??

3rd November

Back in the studio today with pale green shirt and black jumper. Susanna was commenting at 7.15 that last evening she was outside in bare arms, in November! and Bill added ' and suntan lotion' to which Matt commented 'Not quite suntan lotion weather but yes, it has been exceptionally mild this week.'
And at 7.45 Bill says 'And here's a quick weather minute, with Matt' Matt: ' Yes, a quick weather minute it is bringing fresher conditions for you through this weekend.'

Matt was also on Vernon Kaye's show again today, poor soul! Vernon Kaye talks so much garbage its unreal! If you can bear to listen here it is;

2nd November

Matt was back with us in the BP garden this morning sporting the now infamous, it seems, bbc poppy! Hardly fair I feel when Chris Hollins was trying out the indoor ski centre in Manchester! I'm jealous anyway. And chris was funny with his snowboarding, looks like good fun.
No scarf this week with our mild November temperatures, but I dont remember seeing that blue striped shirt before.
Not happy with all that cloud tomorrow, but Sundays looking better, at the moment anyhow!! But Matt advises we dig out the warmer clothes as temperatures will drop with the brighter weather. I'm working in an air conditioned office and been wearing a thermal vest all week!

No banter to report with the presenters today, but at least it was Bill and Susanna. Looking forward to tomorrow morning now when Matt will be back in the studio I would dare to assume.
