    30th October

A rather pleasant surprise on News 24 when Matt appeared. Looking very smart in his pinstriped suit too. Nice to see him back, I don't know if its my messy life, but it feels like I havent seen him for ages!

Well, it seems last night I lied! I didn't go to sleep, very bad night!

Anyway, not a lot to report really. No shipping forecast and no appearance on JL!! But I do have an autumnal Matt pic

Matt did my local forecast this morning too

    24th October

A surprise appearance for the overnight shift last night and I'm not sure how to say this but it seems Mr Taylor slightly mislead us on Sunday by saying he was on this weekend, when on JL last night he said he's NOT working this weekend!! Well!! I'm sure it was an honest mistake or else his shifts have been swapped around or something, cos I know he wouldn't intentionally mislead us!

He was to be seen on BBCi too, and for those (mad people) awake at 5.15 this morning he also did the shipping forecast, which can be heard anytime for more sensible people on the BBC weather player!

And Matt is on overnight again tonight! So eyes peeled! Although after one day back at work I'm knackered so I'm having an early night. The DVD will have to keep an eye out for me!

    21st October

Black shirt Sunday, is that because of the rugby results? And not nearly as smiley and perky today, did Matt stay up to watch the rugby??
No Bill on Breakfast this weekend either, thats not good enough! Hence no banter to report. But at least I have a fully operational DVD disc today I suppose! Thats something, but I'm still annoyed about yesterdays. At the end of Breakfast though Matt did tell us that Louise would be on tomorrow and he'd be back next weekend, which is great!! Because I wouldnt necessarily have expected that, its very often a 3 on then 1 off. So yay! On my return to the world of the employed person (3rd time lucky) on Wednesday I can look forward to seeing Matt over the weekend.
He's currently on the World weather on BBCi.
I finally got round to watching the Weathershow this afternoon, poor Carol, Rain Goddess Extraordinaire, out in the woods with her brolly. But why does that show feel more like an in-house company video at times than a tv programme?, its weird. I liked the bit where Dan and Phil are chatting and Dan wanders off to do his forecast, lmao, brilliant. Peter Gibbs on there too talking hurricanes and tornadoes. A slot for Matt next time perhaps??? A scottish winter wonderland feature maybe!? Just a thought.

    20th October

A terrible catashrophe has occured! I recorded Breakfast this morning, finalised the disc and left it on my unmade bed when I went out, forgetting about the mattress topper I have with magnets in it!!! Disc no longer any good! Big big DOH!! Dumb-arse!
I only actually watched Breakfast from around 8.40 and I hear from Mr George that poor Matt had some technical difficulties this morning with his graphics.
He has also been on News 24 and BBCi today and back with the pink tie again albeit a little paler this time I think. He said Norwich in the UK forecast, hehe!
Hampshire and Essex (thats Mr George and I happy!) got a mention on Breakfast this morning too as cloud was moving in from the channel,(for Hants) which it did, there's been a lot around but thankfully most of it avoided the sun! Lucky!
So now I am going to go and sulk about my disc!! I wont make that mistake again!! (hopefully!!)

I'll console myself with a still from yesterday!

    19th October

Well I have had quite an extra-ordinary week this week and what better way for it to end than with Matt on Breakfast for the weekend. Brilliant. A very chilly start this morning for poor Matt out in the BP garden but there he was all wrapped up in his scarf.
Prior to the 6.15 forecast Bill was running through the rules for rugby before introducing Matt to which Matt commented: 'Very good morning to you Bill, glad you're learning all the rules ahead of the final'.
At the start of the 6.45 forecast Susanna comments: 'That scarf rocks' and Bill adds: 'Thats a very nice scarf, excellent colours on that scarf Matt. Matt: 'Thank you very much, yes, very good morning to you, I need it this morning, its a little on the cool side out here'.
7.15 Susanna: 'Is it chilly outside? Here's Matt with the weather' Matt: 'Thank-you Susanna, yes it is on the chilly side this morning, could do with a little quickstep out here to keep myself warm'. Is that a hint he wants a go on the next Strictly Come Dancing or he'd like someone to keep him warm?? :D in which case I don't imagine he'd ever be short of volunteers. Me, me, me!

The start of the 7.45 forecast below, to which Bill gave Matt 3 points at the end of his forecast:

Bill was mentioning coming up next would be Frankie Valli but before that: 'Here's our own master of the four seasons, with a very aptly coloured scarf, Matt'. Matt: 'I get it now, yes, I've been told by the cameraman that Wickham (and that's Wycombe not Wickham) do need a bit of help this morning'

That scarf caused quite a stir this morning I must say. What will happen when the bobble hat(idea stolen from Mr George) comes out when it gets *really* cold???

    16th October

A calm night for the 20th anniversary of the great storm. Matt could be seen on News 24 and also doing the local forecasts on Breakfast this morning, and looking very cheerful with it. No appearance on JL and no shipping forecast this week, that was for Mr Avery.

Photo of Matt in the pink: (although it doesnt look as pink on here as it did on my telly!)

    15th October

Wow, Matt is in the pink tonight! And so was John Hammond earlier, is it national pink day and no-one told me! Lots of weather news today with it being the 20th Anniversary of the 'great storm'. Poor Michael Fish has had the start of his famous forecast broadcast on News 24 today and indeed the man himself did the 18.25 forecast on News 24 tonight. Despite his 'no hurricane' comment being taken out of context, its the thing everyone remembers him for, but he did say tonight that when he dies he wants all the copies of that forecast buried with him....awww bless.
As Matt has only just started his shift and I'll be off to bed soon, another busy day ahead tomorrow, I shall blog more tomorrow.

    14th October

I've been a bad blogger! I was out all day Sunday from 8.45am and today has been rather on the busy side too, so I'd better get down to it now as Matt Is on again tonight (Monday night)
I was driving from Southampton to Bournemouth yesterday through the New Forest National Park and it seems autumn has not quite kicked in down here yet, still predominately green trees. It was an absolutely beautiful day and all though I was in a seminar most of the day I did have a fish and chip lunch on the beach in the sun, quite fab.

Pale green shirt today so we can wake up more slowly.
At 6.15 we learn that Matt doesnt like prawn cocktail he doesnt mind the crisps but not the real thing. Isobars on this early forecast too!
Isobars on lots of forecasts, Mr George must have been very pleased!
Quite a bit of talk about 70's food making a comeback. Bill likes his steak Diane and Matt likes his Lamb cutlets or a rack of lamb.Bournemouth

Slightly off-topic but Bournemouth beach 14th October 2007

    13th October

Matt was determined to wake us up again this morning with a yellow shirt. I was off gardening again this morning about 9 o clock and it was sooo dark!! It started drizzling for a short while but soon gave up on that.
Bill was on his own for the first hour this morning and by way of introduction to the 6.15 forecast: 'Well, you know you get the tea here, the sun possibly and culture definitely with Matt'. Matt: 'Thank you, yes I'll see if I can bring a bit of it all to you this morning. The sun a bit hard to find this morning another rather grey and gloomy start out there to start Saturday at least, but it's incredibly mild out for the time of year.'
Matt was quite enthusiastically telling us how gloomy it is on the 7.15 forecast!! Our high temperatures for this time of year are the continuing feature of the forecasts at the moment. Paris was looking quite fab this morning behind Sue at the Eiffel Tower. They have sunshine!
Bill: 'From Horrid Henry to marvellous Matt' . Oh yes, we agree!
Matt has also been on BBCi World and UK weather today. And after a tip off from a message on the Matt Taylor facebook group he could also be heard on Radio One this morning talking with Vernon Kaye:

    12th October

Matt is back. No jacket this morning but a red jumper to make sure we're all awake! The news must have got a bit boring lately because we still have very little banter going on, no fun.
Even the weather is very so so. Very mild for the time of year but I'm not complaining about that. I like cold holidays but cold on a daily basis at home not so good, and I just realised this morning, only just over 2 months to the shortest day! Yay, soon be countdown to summer!!! lol
I have had reports of drizzle in Chelmsford and London today though from my roving weather reporter!

As I headed to the outdoors I found drizzle too!! A damp day, but still ok for a spot of gardening......getting the hands dirty and getting stung by stinging nettles!!! Grrrrr.

I think it was bin day at the BBC for Matts 8.20 forecast, some racket going on in the background.

    9th October

Well, now then! Matt has been around the last couple of mornings but not easy to locate! I've had one report of him being seen on News 24 Monday morning and Mr George tells me he was on the Radio 5 this morning! Way too difficult to find! I think we're very lucky that he's regularly on Breakast so we at least know where to start looking.

    7th October

Well, this has been a virtually banter free weekend! Not good! I blame Gordon Brown! Matt was, of course, his usually lovely self.
By way of introduction to the 7.42 forecast Bill said: 'Here's a delicacy, Matt Taylor' . A hearty laugh from Matt  'Thank you very much, yes, the weather not too difficult to taste at the moment, its not too bad out there.'

For the 8.16 forecast Bill asks Matt: 'Whats the weather forecast for Brazil next week Matt?'   Matt laughs 'Hopefully good, on all fronts, I'll have a look into that for you. Not too bad for ourselves, decent day if your off to potter in the garden or take yourself for a  walk in the countryside, most of us will be dry, fairly cloudy.

Isobars again today for a more detailed picture:

    2007-10-08

Matt was again then on BBCi in the afternoon with UK and World weather. No change of shirt today, but with what looked like to me a tan coloured tie with the suit.

    6th October

My Breakfast dream team again today with Bill, Susanna and of course Matt. Again not much banter really.  We had isobars on one forecast, which keeps Mr George happy! An uneventful weekend weatherwise too, not huge amounts of sun but dry, warm and quite bright. Pink shirt with thin white stripe today.
Matt could also be seen on the BBCi forecasts this afternoon. Back in a suit with white shirt and yellow stripey tie.

Pink shirt and Isobars but not from today I hasten to add! Don't panic there's no big low pressure lurking out there!

More Isobars and more bad news!

    5th October

Back on our screens this morning signify a Matt weekend! Can't be bad. There he was out in the dark Blue Peter garden again, with a chilly start (good job I was tucked up in bed) but the good news being most of us could look forward to a rather nice day. And indeed it was! Very nice in a suntrap in the garden, just like summer.

Not a great deal of banter today even though Bill was presenting too. There was a couple of women in the studio to talk about handbags and Bill said he felt a bit like a fish out of water, after a short chat it was straight over to Matt for the weather. Bill: 'Matt, he's a handbag free guy, with the weather' . Matt: ' I'm right there with you Bill, completely lost on that one, but if you are heading out with your handbag in tow this morning, put something warm in it, its a little on the chilly side out there' . Not a handbag girl myself either really, only when absolutely necessary, they're just a downright nuisance. Why we can't just have more pockets in our clothes I'll never know!

    2nd October

Matt was to be found on the overnight shift last night. I checked News 24 up til 10.30 and no sightings, but he was on Janice Longs show  on Radio 2 and he did the shipping forecast again also, much to Mr Georges delight! He was also still presenting the World weather on BBCi this morning.

My technology is unfortunately very much conspiring against me today, as it has been for a while now and even internet explorer is running like a bag of nails, so I'm hoping that I get this publishing before it crashes! I'm still working on getting a recording of Matt on JL, it will happen!!
