Don't Blame It On The Weatherman!

30th June

A change of tv station this morning, I usually watch my Breakfast on BBC1 but that was Wimbledon when I switched on, so a quick switch to News 24 set things right, and today we have the perfect line-up Matt doing the weather with Bill and Suzanna at the helm.

It's not looking good weatherwise around here today, good job my Chinese buffet lunch is but 5 minutes walk away! Definitely will be needing the brolly when going to the oudoors later I feel.

Summer last year was June/July time for about 6 weeks, this year it was March/April for a similar time period so by my reckoning next summer shoud be about Christmas! So not too long to wait!

The heavy showers are already here!   Of course it will stop before I have to go out!!!! That's not exactly what Matt's map is telling me but I'll be optimistic!  

29th June

On the same shift this morning, but from what I could see was denied his BBC News 24 forecast on more than one occassion!! How very rude! Lucky we have BBCi, which he was also on as an alternative. I personally experienced one of those 'Heavy showers' this morning as I was travelling between offices, luckily I was in the car at the time because it hammered it down. Rivers and lakes where there had previously been none (I mean this on the smallest scale possible) and bubbling drains! And a few minutes later....sunshine!!

Nearly the weekend and an early wake up for Breakfast! After his comments on the Janice Long show I can only assume he will be making an appearance on there tomorrow.

28th June

He's on this morning! Just seen BBCi UK forecast. Reminding us about some heavy rain for the weekend! Again! It's got one week to start behaving like summer! i'm off to Glastonbury for the day next Thursday and then Lyme Regis for a week next Friday sooooooooooI better go buy some wet weather gear I think!

He might be seen on News24 as well according to the TBT page.

25th June

Matt has been very busy today I hear on News 24, even being interviewed about the floods, and seeing as how he's not even listed as working today on the TBT page, I sure didn't see that one coming!! I just about managed to see the 1.25 forecast on the BBC news when I got home tonight, never seen Matt in the news studio before.

24th June

I've had a very messy weekend and been sleeping at all the wrong times, and not had a chance to get up to date with this blog!! Bad Matt fan!

Not too much to report on todays Breakfast show really, bring back Bill! Matt was pretty enthusiastic about all this weather were getting and going to be getting especially the band of rain sticking over Wales, and the midlands tomorrow with the severe weather warning out. I better tell my mate in Nottingham! He's got the day off tomorrow, hope he hasn't got any plans! One little slip up this morning on the 6.15 forcast, Matts graphic's said 'Very wey and windy' which Suzanna picked up on, and wondered if it was a typo or a new techinical term, lol. I have to say I do love the background with the dark sky and lightning inside the globe, it's maybe not want we want to see with summer holidays upon us but it looks good. And obviously Matt chose to wear the black shirt today to match the black clouds.

23rd June

At last! A sighting for all!

Matt returns to our screens bringing us all lots of bad news about the weekend weather, especially for those at Glastonbury! Still... it looks like fun! Matt did say on his last forecast for Breakfast this morning he wishes he was bringing us better news. I have to say I didnt do too bad yesterday by the sounds of it. I had a call from a friend near Oxford and ended up going up there, and by all accounts had a better day there than it was in Southampton. We had showers and even a little thunder and lighning, which was good fun. By the time we went out for a chinese early evening it was dry, and a most lovely meal it was too. Chinese restaurant(above the co-op) in Cholsey Village, Oxon, highly recommended!

22nd June

Sooo, not today then! The weekend is fast approaching I can cope. Fish and chips tonight I reckon in celebration of it being Friday, and maybe a glass of wine or two!

20th June

Apologises, apologies! He was on Janice Long's show yesterday morning, it was me being dumb and listening to Monday mornings show instead of Tuesdays! Derrr! I obviously wasn't awake!

Lucky thing has been on holiday in Italy! Taking in Florence, Siena and Sorrento and then a week in Sardinia. Very nice! He went to Sorrento for a friends wedding. Been there myself, and it is lovely although I was very aware that I was staying down the road from an active volcano!!! He was saying that it was expensive there and the bar bills were a bit of a shock and he'll have to do overtime every night for the next year, lol. That's good for us!! AND he also said that he's going to be doing Breakfast most weekends throughout the summer with only a couple off!  

Well that was Tuesday mornings show, and this morning they were discussing commandments and Janice had people emailing in telling her what commandments they think should exist. Along with a lot of us Matt doesn't like people hogging the middle land of the motorway, but then they subject turned to thongs!! Having just been on holiday he said 'women of a certain age or size' should not wear thongs and men on the beach with beer bellies and speedos is very wrong!! They were having quite a laugh, Janice did ask if he was a thong man and apparently not, he reckons it would chafe. Janice burst out laughing and said about putting cream on it!! It was all getting quite out of hand! lmao

By the sounds of it Matt will be back again for Breakfast at the weekend, hopefully Friday. Good, good

Matt on Janice Long Wednesday 20th June

19th June

He was still on BBCi World this morning when I looked but no appearance on the Janice Long show!   Nice to have him back though. On the same shift again tonight, so maybe he'll be on Janice Long's show tonight.

I digress:

We've had a storm here today, which was pretty cool. Being in the Hampshire basin quite often storms completely bypass us and we get a few rumbles or a flash and that's it but this evening. I saw some great lightning. The clouds were doing strange things, some of it looked very low and it was swirling around, but didnt develop into anything more dramatic, got the camera out just in case but no, and some of the slightly higher cloud was so thin you could see blue sky though it. More storms required! I love it. I want to go storm chasing in America!!! oh yes!!

But apart from the storm I have to say it does seem like Matt has brought back some decent sunshine, around these parts anyway, and still looking good for tomorrow. Cheers Matt, keep up the good work!

18th June

Matt's back, Matt's back, Matt's back! Yay, What a shock on a Monday morning! Very good shock though! That's well and truly brightened up a very dull and grey start to the week. We will have to wait til tonight to hear from him, but I think I can do that!

Just seen him on BBCi World! Now I can go to sleep!

17th June

Still, still not back!!  I was out all day yesterday on a trip to London so in a kind if way I was sort of glad he wasn't on, but it has been a long time now. Maybe he's off celebrating his birthday. His BBC bio says he was born at the start of the long hot summer of '76, and having done some googling I believe that techincally started on 23rd June, so it could be any time now. But we miss him and we want him back! We want that mischievious cheeky smile back.

15th June

  I  can't believe he's still not back!!! I wish I had this much time off! With Alex Deakin being on Breakfast this morning I'm not incredibly hopefully for tomorrow now.

14th June

Well, fingers crossed for tomorrow! Or at the very least Saturday. He better be back! and if he could bring the nice weather back too then all the better.
