    31st May

Due to illness I haven't been paying very close attention to anything much the last 24 hours but I have listened to the Janice Long show on Radio 2 which Matt has been on the last two nights. He's been covering for someone who was off sick and running around all over the place. When Janice asked him where he was going next he didn't even know!  They were talking about using mobile phone as alarm clocks and Matt uses his, but he said he'd like an alarm clock that gently rocks him awake and makes him a bacon butty. I'd be happy to volunteer for that!

He was working overnight again last night but not on the usual stuff. I have seen him this morning, on BBCi World, thats a bright tie, can't quite get the full impact of it on BBCi but it's certainly eye-catching! It almost woke me up......almost!

Last evening on South Today they said they've got this thing going on ( I wasn't really listening, some sort of competition)  and Georgie Palmer goes to your garden to give the weather forecast!!  I mean I like Georgie 'n' all, she's cool, but...........I'd rather Matt! How cool would that be???

There he was this morning doing the local forecasts, with 'that' tie. Never mind, he looked happy, certainly much happier than I felt getting up to go to work! Quite a big improvement in the weather today, very chilly first thing this morning but much warmer and sunnier than yesterday.

There was a cheeky comment about Matt over on the Dan Corbett Blog yesterday in reference to the tiny studio they record their forecasts in, as see on Blue Peter last week. It sure looks cosy in there!

The wind finally arrived last night, but it seems my bedroom window was facing the wrong way to get the worst of it, but I did hear the wind whistling in the chimney. I actually managed to leave the house today for the first time since Friday and it is COLD! Certainly was fresh air time!

As usual the BBC todays team page has not been updated as its bank holiday, so I dont know for sure if Matt is around today, but I'll keep an eye out this evening as he often does the overnight shift on Mondays.

Yes! Matt is on tonight. Have just seen him on News 24. Not too sure about tonights tie!  I wasn't too surprised to learn on the 9.55 forecast that Matt hadn't been involved in cheese rolling before! Let's face it, who has!

I caught a couple of Dan forecasts last night and on one he had isobars!! Good man!

Looking out the window this morning it looks like all this wet and wild weather we've been promised is well on its way, quite scary looking black clouds out there. Matt even has some lightning flashes on his graphics this morning for down in these southern parts. Hehe, sounds like fun. Well, if we can't have settled, warm and sunny we might as well have something a bit more dramatic instead. No wind yet though, very calm so far. And as Matt says 'If you've got any plans for the outdoors today waterproofs are probably best recommended'.

Most be cold this morning Matt's got his jumpers out again, black jumper and yellow shirt. Matt was on News 24 after Breakfast at 9.25 and 9.55  avec l' isobars again! hehe, ok I'm going to shut up about the isobars now. All smart this time in stripey yellow/gold tie and jacket.

Where's Bill? Bill is meant to present Breakfast at the weekends!

The heavy rain has definitely arrived, still not windy yet tho.

Matt in action with the isobars!

He's back on Breakfast this morning, yay! As it should be . Suzanna was talking about the new speed cameras and they're here to stay love them or loath them. She then added 'You can only love him, it's Matt with the weather, morning Matt'  to which Matt replied 'Thank-you very much Suzanna, very good morning to you, you probably won't love me after this forecast'. Ha, as if, we still love you Matt.  Isobars! There were isobars on multiple forecasts this morning!! Nice one Matt, good to see. Even if they were bringing us bad news!

Before the start of one of the forecasts Bill introduced he advised 'First, Bank Holiday weekend weather with Matt Taylor, if you don't like rain look away now' Matt laughs, 'I think I should hide to be honest Bill (Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!) yes, its not looking great for some of us, particularly Sunday into Monday, but before we get there, ok we've lost the heat and humidity, but not a bad day today' and then he added at the end 'keep watching the forecast for the latest details' we will if your doing them Matt! :)

Matt is also doing BBCi world and UK weather at the moment, back in the formal jacket and tie. Apparently we're going to have to a 'VERY close eye' on that heavy rain!

I'm having fun today! ish! I've just got a new laptop with Vista which I've never used before, but it's not too bad to be fair. And I'm trying to keep track of Matt. I'm not sure what to do first! At least once I've mastered the art of all these new facilities I'll be able to get more pics and stuff on here, but I'm on a steep learning curve right now. Am impressed I got my wireless connection to work, miracles do happen! Although my old laptop is now not connected :S

Where is he?? He's missing! Listed as being on Breakfast today but not!  I've found him!  On BBCi doing the UK and World weather. I'm at work on my lunchbreak so don't have access to TV so don't know about that bit.

Checking out the BBCi when I got home which wasn't til about 6.30 today he was still on UK and world weather, sounding very cheerful and very enthusiastic about these weather fronts moving in bringing us lots of rain!!

Having stayed awake longer than expected last night I did catch the 9.25 forecast when the weather for today was going to be bry and dright, or something like that, a little tongue-tied I think! And a rise in temperatures over the next few days! Yay! I also caught the 9.55 forecast where at the end he said 'And I'll be back throughout the night' Teasing! I can't stay up all night!

However, as expected he was doing the local forecasts this morning and also as expected a nice sunny morning to wake to. That bright various shades of yellow tie must have helped bring the sun back.

If everything continues to the usual schedule I guess Matt will be off for a couple of days now at least, so it's down to Dan Corbett to help that nice High Pressure gain a bit of power and push away those nasty Lows, so we can have some BBQ's over the weekend. And I'll be able to sleep tonight without an overwhelming desire to switch the TV on every half an hour!

    21st May

Well, here we go again with the overnight shift! Oh dear! Monday night is soooooooo the worst night for me to be up late because I always have a late night Sunday and the shock of going to work on Monday wears me out and I need an early night! But how am I meant to sleep when I know I'll be missing something!?!!? I ask you! One good thing though, hopefully I should wake up with him in the morning, so to speak  (doing my local forecast)  and out the window will be brilliant sunshine!!

.........And cause for celebration around the country tomorrow with the long awaited return of Dan Corbett at teatime! 'Welcome back Dan Corbett' BBQ's all over the country I have no doubt!

I've been looking out for him this morning and........nothing! I've checked BBCi, News 24 and countryfile, its all Peter and Alex.  Here's hoping he's back to breakfast next weekend. I'll console myself by adding a pic

Another overnight shift then, I'm going to be soooo tired this afternoon! I saw the 9.55 forecast and he said 'I'll be back in about half an hour' , how am I supposed to switch the tv off and go to sleep when he says that!!! AND I didnt see him in half an hour because there was no 10.25 forecast!  so then I had to watch the 10.55!! Oh dear! Late again. He did the local forecasts this morning too  . He's not working today, so time for a rest! Nice plain purpley tie last night.

He actually teased last night...twice! Saying he would be back in half an hour and wasnt and at the start of the forecast he said 'If you're looking for the return of the warm sunny weather you'e got a while to wait yet'  Mention warm sunny weather and then basically say Ha, no chance. Cheeky!

    15th May

Matt was on News 24 last night. I was planning to have an early night but that didn't happen, so I got to see Matt a few times. Like the pale blue shirt and tie. I think the forecast at 9.55 must have lasted about a whole 30 seconds, the 10.55 one was better. This morning I switched the tv on at 7.26 and there he was again doing my local forecast, yay. A good start to a Tuesday morning, especially one as dull as todays. According to the BBC web page its another overnight job!  there's so many ways I could go with this......... but I'll behave! All I'll say is, I'm not getting enough sleep! lol.

No banter to report today, shocking! Not even any mention of being able to 'fly the flag' in the coming south easterly winds! I think they were all just too overcome with those pictures of all that rain. It's now nearly 3pm and we didnt get that much rain here really, quite disappointing. There was one long but distant rumble of thunder. All weekend I've been looking forward to a nice dramatic heavy shower, but no.

I wasn't entirely convinced about the shirt and jumper combination this morning. I couldnt work out what colour stripe was in the shirt but it didn't really work with pale blue. Later, on BBCi the jumper had been replaced with the pale blue tie. He is currently doing the UK and World weather on BBCi.

    12th May

It seems Matt along with everyone at Breakfast this morning is in Eurovision mode! With Matt making reference to 'making your mind up' and 'boom, bang-a-bang' !! lol. On the 6.45 forcast he started with 'You'll be making your mind up whether to take the umbrella with you today' and at 9.55 'skies above us may be going boom bang-a-bang at some point today'. Cool! I hope so.

If I go out today I cant say I havent been warned that I might get wet! It's sunny here at the moment but there are some big mean black clouds around. And as Matt said 'some of you may have been awoken by heavy rain pounding against the bedroom window'. I certainly was and couldnt get back to sleep, so now I'm tired! Also you might like to take note that 'the showers will start to get much pokier across much of England and Wales, and they'll be rattling through across the far south. Just in case you didnt catch that Frank!  and just so you know 'wherever you are across the country be prepared to get wet at some point'. Hopefully that's only if your going outside!

    11th May

Yay, he's back! Suzanna mentioned rain for the garden before we joined Matt in the Blue Peter garden this morning for the 7.45 forecast. Bill said we need rain and Matt said 'The rain has been fantastic, and more of it to come over the weekend'. I never thought that I would have to agree with such a statement, but it was nice to lie in bed listening to the rain I have to admit, although I wasn't quite so impressed when I nearly got drowned when I came out of Tesco recently during a very heavy shower!!

Before the 8.15 forecast Suzanna was talking about Anne Reid once kissing James Bond, she then added 'Time for a cold shower now...with Matt' !!!!! Matt laughed and said ' Thank-you very much, yes, there'll be a few of them around today. We've got a bit of sunshine here at the moment in the garden, but if you do catch any sunshine today, do put it in your pocket for later, there's not going to be a great deal around this weekend, fairly cloudy'. I thought it was stars you were meant to put in your pocket but hey. And as for a cold shower with Matt...well....hmm....am not sure about that, but I wouldnt say no to a warm one!   hehe

During the 8.53 forecast there was some noise going on in the background and at the end Bill asked 'Is someone trimming the hedges behind you Matt?' and Suzanna commented 'I thought someone had put the sprinklers on' to which Matt replied ' Yes, somebody has been moving something around. Just out of my eyeshot at the moment, sorry about that, apologies'.

We saw Matt one more time at 9.12 giving a brief outline of the weekend ending with 'Not a brilliant weekend it has to said, I'll have all the details on Breakfast from 6 tomorrow'. Ha, as if that itself doesnt make it a brilliant weekend!

I've always said Matt always brings me sunshine, got up this morning to brilliant sunshine, and it wasnt til well after he'd finished his Breakfast slot that it clouded over, so... cant complain.

Wow, I cant believe how lucky I've been. He hasnt been on since I've been away so I havent missed anything! Result! The weather map on the BBC website right now reckons there is no cloud here in Nottingham! Ummmmm....there really is! Lots of it and its time it went away! Thankfully it did go away so I was able to top up the tan.
